Leadership reflections on Covid-19: Staff wellbeing must come first

Andy Rhodes QPM is the Chief Constable of Lancashire Constabulary, and the National Police Chiefs’ Council lead for well being and staff engagement. Here, he provides his thoughts on the organisational impact of Covid-19 on policing and how leaders can make the coming weeks easier for their staff.

I’ve received a few requests to expand on my 4am LinkedIn post and this blog will set out some of the emerging lessons drawn from my own experiences and conversations with many other leaders from a variety of different sectors. Whatever business you are in, I think most of them will apply and, hopefully, we can start to share learning that we can use now and, even more importantly, to help us prepare our organisations for the next crisis.
